Dublin rock blues outfit The Riptide Movement are back with a new single, Hot Tramp and their infectious, sixties blues rock swagger is bigger, harder and better than ever. Their last single Hard To Explain had its feet in the genre but overall the song was laxed back from their usual power to suit a radio friendly audience. Now the band has mustered themselves up to deliver a truly great song and a fine job they’ve done.

The Riptide Movement, Hot Tramp

To describe this would involve some Americana, some Door’s and some hearty passion for all things swaggering, sweaty, boozed up, and teasing.

Hot Tramp leaps from foot stamping, top down Route 66 rock to full on blitz in the lights of sixties LA catchy debauchery.

Pity it didn’t come out earlier in the summer but it’s not too late for this song to give us a few proper hard line rock ‘n’ roll memories in the fading summer evenings.

Catch the band in Whelan’s on September 17th for the official launch of Hot Tramp.

Drop-d Rating: 8/10
