It’s no secret we’re fans of the Quarter Inch Collective here at the D. So, imagine our delight when label mogul Ian upped a sweet preview of their second annual Quompilation, launching on the 27th. The Quomp idea is simple, but genius: Irish bands cover Irish bands. The result has been amazing, drawing many different layers and left-turns out of a multitude of bands.
The first of these this year is Dublin soundsmith supreme Simon Bird’s interpretation of Kalinsky‘s Nightcall. A fluid, slinky piece of business that holds you rapt. Enough of the hyperbole, though, get a listen/download below.
