Xmas xtasy from the power-popping, shoe-gazing superheroes, streaming and downloading inside!

The holidays are well and truly here.

People are exchanging empty pleasantries in the spirit of the season, parents are reverting to primitive lifeforms in their rush to find the latest device to pacify their spoilt brats with, while bros and broettes the world over are safe in the knowledge that this year’s Call of Duty is the exact same as the last, only more expensive.

We’ve been posting bearable Xmas tunes here in the late half of last week, and we have another for the slim pickings to be had of songs that don’t encourage mass homicide through sheer repetition. Cork popgazers Agitate the Gravel have had a phenomenal first year, with debut single Wilderness Years providing ample excuse to tour their pedal-laden rear-ends off.

And to round it all off, here’s a tongue and cheek, holiday-themed slice of goodwill vested with a slower, more contemplative take on the lads’ power-pop shenanigans. Christmas No.1 is now available for download at the widget below, and  this Friday, you can see ‘em launch it live, at their first-anniversary show at An Realt Dearg.

This isn’t hype – these lads will make a difference in 2012.

Agitate the Gravel.
