Independence Month showcase crams the bands in, including Former Monarchs and Agitate the Gravel.

Northern Ireland’s Small Town America label and Cork’s own +4 are teaming up for a special Dublin showcase to mark Independence Month 2012, a special initiative focusing on independent music. The line up, of course, is only a beauty.

Returning from a brief hiatus in live activity, Fighting With Wire headline proceedings, with new material and a range of gigs in sight for 2012. Belfast lads More Than Conquerors have been making major headway in recent times, while Cork lads Former Monarchs‘ progress in 2011 was absolutely astonishing, with UK tours and a scintillating EP among their milestones. Former Red Organ Serpent Sound man Chris McConaghy takes things in a singer-songwriter direction with his acoustic project Our Krypton Son, while shoegaze-pop platoon (and recent Drop-d Award honourees) Agitate the Gravel ply their craft in a rare Dubland appearance. To top it all off, promising indie/instrumental upstarts Wiltz round out the line-up.

And all this? A fiver in. You’d be silly not to, really.

Friday January 11th @ The Crawdaddy, Dublin.
