Blending electronica lo-fi with indie DIY, songs like The Devils Of Loudon convey musical lunacy marginally honed by ace song-writing structures. On the surface, some songs appear to be chilled out aural sedatives but build into triumphant tunes displaying several interlaced melodies, Until I Get Paid. A folk influence reminiscient of Animal Collective is present which, mixed with the electronic aspects of the album, challenges the listener in a gentle coaxing way rather than alienating them.

Released on the Irish label, Osaka, Patrick Kelleher should be definitely on your “One To Out Watch For” list.  New talent like this rare but very refreshing.  Pick up a copy of You Look Cold, you’ll be pleased.

Drop-d Rating 8/10
