Another dark horse in Cork’s new era of venues is the Phoenix. Home to a few Drop-d gigs and most recently, OST‘s sole live Cork outing, it has also played host to the likes of poetry jams and endless singer-songwriter sessions.

Munster Soul Night is one of Cork’s lesser-spotted nights, save for some guerrilla postering about town, but in the past few years has carved itself a niche all its own with a varied selection of soul classics crossing the genre’s rich history.

The next one is Saturday night and features, alongside the regulars, Danny Duggan of Dublin soul night Sleepless Nights and more to be added.

Kicking off at 9pm – Northern Soul/ 60’s and 70’s Soul. All the top soul sounds from Chicago to Detroit, Memphis to Philadelphia, Motown, Philly soul etc, etc, etc, all on original vinyl!
