If this tour actually happens, it will be truly amazing. For two reasons. Firstly to see four of the most influential bands in thrash/heavy metal on the one bill. Slayer

Slayer

This is a tour that I have wanted to see happen since 1990. So, not wishing to put a negative slant on this at all and bearing in mind this “Big Four” tour is only at the discussion phase, there’s plenty of time for everything to fall apart. Considering the dainty egos of several of the involved parties, any of the following could happen:

1. Dave Mustaine decides that Slayer are too offensive to Jesus. He prays for Kerry Kings soul while the pending barring order is being processed through the courts.

2. Due to feelings of inadequacy, prior to the tour beginning, Lars Ulrich insists that all members of all bands must sign a declaration which states “Lars Ulrich is a better drummer than Dave Lombardo“. Nobody will sign it. Metallica are off the bill. James Hetfield doesn’t really mind because he “wasn’t feeling the vibe anyway, man”.

3. Scott Ian tries to pick a fight with Tom Araya. Anthrax decide to decline the offer of touring following Scotts funeral.

4. Kirk Hammett grows a pair of balls and beats the shit out of Dave Mustaine while screaming “No, you CAN’T have your old job back! FUCKING DEAL WITH IT!”

Unfortunately, the ‘Big Four’ will probably only be touring the States. However, between the inevitable live YouTube footage, and the bitching between bands on Blabbermouth, it’ll feel like we’re right there all along. I can’t wait!

This is jizz inducing but very idealistic. I mean, will Dave really agree to (technically) open for Metallica? Secondly, IF he does he’ll probably throw a hissy fit over wanting to play above Slayer but King will be his usual immature self and throw an equally huge whingy rant. By the way Megadeth should play above Slayer (in my opinion)

For the fans this would be glorious, even if it’s just the States I’d stongly consider travelling. But (and a big one) there’s just WAAAAAY too much ego in this concoction

    Still, we can hope.

Feck me, this would be too much for one night, I don’t think I could handle it responsibly. I mean aside from tour t-shirt envy among members of the crowd and whiplash, the cringe moments would be worse than watching your dad pick a fight with a guard at your confirmation.

I heard Kerry King said he’d love to bring this tour over to Europe if it happens. He was saying it was unfortunate they couldn’t get the Megadeth/Slayer ones over here so ya never know. It would be the biggest Heavy Metal tour in history.

To hell with Anthrax though, get Testament in there!!

I agree, Jon. For this to take off at all, Ulrich, Mustaine, King and Scott Ian, to certain degree, will have to sit down and “agree to disagree”.
On the other hand, Metallica are probably the only band, financially, who can afford NOT to do this.

    Fingers crossed.

Who needs Metallica? We see them every 10 minutes in this country. Lose them and get Suicidal Tendencies and Testament in.
Now THAT would be a gig and a half. With Death Angel opening.
    I’m having a Homer moment.

    Mmmmm…..gig and a half!

And with Metallica gone, Dave and Kerry can alternate headliner each night. Ego’s satisfied.

    Mmmmm…..gig and a half!

I would bloody love this gig to happen  . . . and for it to come to Ireland, obviously!

Maybe, Megadeth and Slayer could alternate their runner-order. This is what they did in Canada (back in June), and will be doing in New Zealand and Australia (and Canada again in November).

God, please, please, please . . . PLEASE make this happen! I don’t believe in God, but I’ll convert, if he (she?) makes this tour happen!
