Jon Leahy grew up in Bishopstown Cork where at the tender age of twelve he developed an interest in becoming a serious musician having been inspired primarily by acts such as Mettalica and Nirvana. With no musical training" Jon taught himself how to read music and how to play the guitar.

At sixteen Jon performed his first live radio performance on BBC Radio" while during the same period he played with local acts such as paradox" jD and Kaleb. The Autumn of 2003 saw him make the leap from guitarist "2 to full time solo artist.

As quick as he had learned to play the guitar he was now wowing audiences around Ireland sharing the stage with acts such as cycle fly" stand" John Spillane" Eoin Caughlan and Gavin Moore.

Jon has performed regularly in venues such as the Lobby Bar" Dolan"s of Limerick" Roisin Dubh of Galway and the Sugar Club in Dublin. More recently has played in the Mor Festival of Tullamore as well as taking a few months out to tour Spain" Austria" the US "most notably a sold out show in Las Vegas"" Germany" where he impressed at the renowned Tanz und Folk fest in Rudolstadt.

Now based in Cork" Jon is building up a steady fan base with his live shows and with the release of three compilation Cds" which he is featured on. Jon is looking forward to completing his firs solo album later this year to celebrate his 21st.
