This July" the people of Cork have been given the opportunity to laugh at Tommy" get their groove on with Al" boogie with Diana and probably vomit at Brian. But if there is one performer that Drop"d would have to single out as the most intriguing visitor to the Leeside" it would have to be Rufus Wainwright.

Of course the best line up of the events are The Frank and Walters and Fred sharing a stage with Damo from Donaghmede but we reckon it"s the son of Loudon Wainwright III who's gonna raise the eyebrows.

Rufus Wainwright has been a musician since the tender age of 13 when he started playing with his mother and sister "the most talented family in the world bar the Kelly family""
but its only recently that Wainwright is reaching the critical acclaim that his songs duly deserve. His latest album Want two is jammed to the rafters with epic piano and string combo pieces.

Among his admirers include" Damien Rice" Keane" Cork's Annette Buckley and Elton John" who recently described Rufus Wainwright as being "the greatest songwriter on the planet at the moment""
Not bad coming from the man who penned 'Rocket Man'.
