angelpier_darraghThree parts Irish to one part Canadian, Angel Pier make discordant noise through unhinged classic pop melodies, layering looping drums and brooding bass, a confrontational guitarist with severe riff-tourette’s, and a melancholic vocalist with dark lyrical tendencies.

The band are fresh from playing a storming show to a packed Whelans in Dublin at the start of 2009, and are demoing new songs, to be recorded in early April with Jimmy Eadie (Asylum Studios – Jape, David Kitt, One Day International, Rarely Seen Above Ground,) for a single and limited 7″, which is scheduled for a May release. The band are taking time out from the studio by popular demand to return to Dublin and play a headline show at Andrew’s Lane Theatre on Saturday 7th March.

Angel Pier will play dates across Ireland in May and are taking a trip over to the UK for the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. Their debut album is due to follow in autumn 2009.

Tickets for the 7th March show are available from WAV, City Discs, Tickets.ie and Ticketmaster
