Oregons Menomena have announced a date in Dublin in February. The Indie Rock three piece will play at The Sugar Club on Friday 29. Tickets priced "16.00 inclusive of booking fee are available at all usual Ticketmaster outlets.

Formed in late 2000 in Portland" Menomena began as a side project of band member Danny Seim. At the time he was a solo artist under the name of Lackthereof" a project that he still performs under. All three members share vocal duties and frequently swap instruments on their recordings.

The bands first album" I Am the Fun Blame Monster" was released in 2004. The title is an anagram for The First Menomena Album and was elaborately packaged in an 80 page flipbook designed and hand assembled by Seim.

The bands third album" Friend and Foe" was released early in 2007 and was produced" recorded and mixed entirely by the band. To celebrate the release of the album" guitarist Justin Harris assembled a 25 member choir and taught them the various vocal layers of the bands new material with the help of his mother" a trained opera singer. The choir was comprised of a mixture of Portland bands" solo singers and some of Harris close friends. The CD and latter released EP features an intricate packaging layout which was made up with die cut shapes" decoder rings and hidden messages. It was designed by keyboardist Brent Knopf.

Menomena have toured with acts such as The National and Gang of Four.

Tickets for Menomenas Dublin show at The Sugar Club on Friday 29 February are on sale now at all usual Ticketmaster outlets and are priced "16.00 inclusive of booking fee.
