Large Mound play homage to ten years of iconic Irish Internet music boards Thumped.com in Twisted Pepper this Saturday 12 September. A late gig, also on the bill are Legion of Two, the Dublin percussion/electronica duo who released a great debut album, Riffs, in June. The line-up will be decided by toss of a coin but which ever way it flips, the two bands provide a totally different mix of music.
As the Mound’s first gig in a year – they last played together at Electric Picnic 2008 – you can expect a lot of nervous slagging and crawling rock wig-outs along with new songs “about kidnapping, archaeology and fat Spaniards – the usual stuff.”
Legion of Two will make this happen before they retreat to the studio for album #2:
There’s a great post on Legion of Two up on spearedyou, with a sweet mix to download too, compiled from the Mary Ann Hobbs Sessions on BBC Radio 1.
Large Mound are giving away free guestlist to this Saturday’s show for some lucky new followers over on twitter.com/largemound so go and say hi. Alternately, drop them a line at largemound[at]gmail[dot]com with a suggested title for the next Large Mound album. Two Danny DeVitos Are Following You, maybe?
