batsGood news everybody, BATS, Dublin’s disco-metal deviants, have announced that their debut album, Red in Tooth and Claw, will be released on August 31st on the Richter Collective label.  The record was recorded with legendary producer Kurt Ballou in Salem, Massachusetts, earlier this year and Drop-D hasn’t been this excited since the doctor put us on double doses of Xanex some three years back.

To get in the mood for the release, BATS have scheduled a few live shows here and there between now and the appointed time. Their first appearance since blowing all and sundry away at the Lower Deck before they embarked on their American adventure will be up north at the Curfew Festival in the Black Box, Belfast on July 11. Their next appearance after that will be the album launch itself, which takes place down south, on August 29 in Andrew’s Lane with Adebisi Shank and Jogging.

BATS, ever media savvy, have put together a glorious promo video for the record, and you can watch it below. Drop-d feels like we’re waiting for Christmas to come right now with the salivationary anticipation that’s coarsing through our veins.
