WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE!

Use the contact form below for a direct line to Drop-d‘s HQ. Our Facebook and Twitter are equally good means of reaching us, though we tend towards FB more than Twitter. Our MySpace is a historical document, kept up mostly for nostalgia purposes, although our news feed is still active there. We don’t have a Bebo. Just in case you were wondering.

BANDS/ARTISTS:

To submit recordings and other media for review, please include a short paragraph about yourselves, as well as a link to your Bandcamp, Mediafire, etc. For physical releases, get in touch regards postal details. We try and get around to everything, but as this is a volunteer-run blog, owing to time and writer availability, we may or may not. It’s no slight on your ability if we don’t and we openly invite you to keep poking at us if it’s been a while.

If you’re on Soundcloud, drop your hosted tracks into our DropBox on the side of the page!

PROMOTERS/PR/LABELS/MANAGERS:

We’re always on the hunt for news and review material, and will be delighted to work with ye in sharing your news and release dates. In the case of labels/self-releases, we’re particularly fond of pre-release streaming of upcoming material, and will gladly host your material if you’ll let us. :-) Promoters, we also can be contacted regards reviews and photography.

Promoters/organisers/fund-raisers/alternative-minded DJs, get in touch regards bringing a Drop-d night to your city and/or town! It’s a means of the D getting around IRL and a good time for all concerned!

NEW CONTRIBUTORS:

Drop-d is always on the hunt for new contributors to bring ideas and yet more passion to the table. This is a not-for-profit blog (DIY ethics, baby), but by all means, we’ll help out our regular contributors with references, etc. if necessary.

If you’re a writer/photographer, please include links to some of your work and a brief description of yourself, what you’re into and any ideas you may have that can improve the D for everyone. Points for originality. :-)

Any other questions? Something to get off your chest? Just feeling like saying hello? Feel free to expand on it in the contact form. Thanks a million for your time and keep supporting Drop-d.ie!

    To whom it may concern,

my name is Ben Moore and I am a first year Arts student at NUI Maynooth studying English, History and Sociology.
From a very young age my life ambition has been to be a journalist and I am avid reader of your meritorious blogs. I am writing to you in the hopes of being offered any form of experience or advise you could possibly give me in order to aid me in attaining a future career as a journalist. I have experience writing for my school newsletter and often read and write in my spare time. I would also like to add that I received an A1 in English in my Leaving Certificate and obtained a reward from NUI Maynooth for my English after recommendations from my secondary school teachers.
Any information of advice you could possibly give me would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted at this e-mail address:mooreben92@gmail.com or my mobile number: 0857437630. I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail.

    Yours sincerely, Ben Moore.

    Hey there,
In your recent Drop-D writers’ Awards post you gave the Wizards Of Firetop Mountain video ‘best Irish music video’. Well I directed that video, so first off, thank you very, and secondly, I was just hoping that there was any of getting my name into the post. Not for any kind of vanity, just I’m still trying to get my name out there and it’d be a nice thing to turn up in google and all that. Anyway, thanks again.

    Hello.

My name is Niceol Blue, of Niceol Blue and The Copper Soul. Our debut album “Rise” was released internationally in November 11th 2011.

I heard about your blog and would like to submit our album for review. I have linked to our bandcamp page above, where you can listen to the album in full.

The album “Rise” is a collection of original roots rock songs. It was recorded and engineered in Galway, at The Forge studios, and was mastered by Aidan Foley at Masterlabs in Dublin. The album features the talents of many well known Irish musicians including Cormac Dunne (The Stunning) and Tom Portman (The Bahh Band). It was released on my own independent label ‘Rock baby Records’, and funded entirely with money raised by busking, gigging, and donations from friends.

The Copper Soul live band was fully formed in 2010, and the result is a powerhouse roots rock and soul sound. The band consists of: Eoghan Judge (lead guitar), Karl Clews (bass), Pat Fortune (drums) Jenny O’Brien (keys), and Niceol Blue (vox and rhythm guitar).

You can find additional information about Niceol Blue and The Copper Soul and listen to all of the songs from the album at http://niceolbluecoppersoul.bandcamp.com/

Thanks for your consideration, and your time, and if you are interested in a physical copy of the CD and/or the single, let me know and I will send it right away, along with our band bio and press photos.

    Regards,
    Niceol Blue
