As part of their hectic summer gig schedule Adebisi Shank gave their Dublin fans a memorable night in Twisted Pepper on Thursday night.
With support band Not Squares getting mixed responses from the crowd, uncontrolable levels of anxiety gripped the small venue before Adebisi Shank ripped the speakers wide open.
Although they played a full set it seemed that Lar, Mick and Vinny were leaving the stage as soon as they got on it. Their creativity and sound manipulation takes on so many sequences that before you know it the songs are over.
It’s like an orgasm in your ears, though thankfully without the mess
It’s like an orgasm in your ears, though thankfully without the mess, Adebisi Shank‘s robot rock just may be the very thing rock music has been waiting for. It’s last saviour was Kurt Cobain and now in the guise of an instrumental band rock music has found it’s new hero.
As post-rock bands delve deep into the infinite possibilities of electronic devices, Adebisi Shank remain raw, powerful and yet still abandon the conventional use of their instruments.
This is rock music, but rock you have never experienced before: newcomers were left with one of the most memorable shows of their lives and returning fans were no different, despite murmorings of poor sound in parts of the venue, but as Lar and Vinny both put it after the show with regard to their pedal manipulation “Sometimes it works and som
etimes it just doesn’t”
If Kevin Shields has listened to this band yet he knows his time on the pedastal as the king of pedal manipulating is coming to an end. Lar, with his arsenal of pedals, achieves a sound that simply leaves you mesmerised, complimented by Vinny‘s raw talent for sound with a bass and Nintenfo DS and Mick‘s ability to keep it all together.
It is fair to say that Adebisi Shank are a cut above any other current Irish act, even Shay from Director knows his place in Ireland’s music scene: working the door for Adebisi Shank and giving the punters a lovely green pepper stamp.

Finally someone fucking said it!!! THESE LADS ROCK!!!
I found this band on the internet by accident and they blow my mind. Everyone I’ve played their music for here in the US has been equally impressed. I’ve never been to Ireland, but I’m seriously considering taking a trip just to see The Shank play. They’re that fucking awesome.
